How does missed-call text-back work?
RytherOS Missed-Call Text-Back works on your business number once it's connected for texting. A call comes in and rings the phone you choose for 25 seconds. If someone picks up, nothing else happens. If nobody answers, the line is busy, or the caller hangs up while it's ringing, RytherOS saves the caller as a contact and sends them a text. When they reply, your AI agent takes the conversation from there, using your service area, job rules and calendar.
Does the AI answer the phone?
No. RytherOS doesn't answer, record or transcribe calls. Your team takes the calls you can take. RytherOS turns the ones you miss into a text conversation.
What does the caller receive?
A short text from your number. The default reads: "Sorry we missed your call. How can we help? Reply here and we'll get back to you right away." You can change the wording. You can also send a different message outside your opening hours, or follow up if they don't reply.
Which phone numbers work?
RytherOS Missed-Call Text-Back works with a business number connected for SMS through Twilio. It also works with a WhatsApp Web number, but that only covers WhatsApp calls, not regular phone calls. During setup we check which of your numbers qualify. Turning it on changes how that number handles voice calls in its Twilio account. Your previous settings are saved and come back when you switch it off.
What happens after they text back?
The reply lands in your shared inbox like any other text. The AI agent can answer common questions from your approved knowledge, ask your qualifying questions such as service, address and timing, and offer open times on your connected calendar. It hands the chat to your team when it needs a person. If the caller goes quiet, follow-ups run on the schedule you set and stop when they reply or book.
